This is us with Steve (left) and Rick on the border of Canada and Alaska on a two day trip last week.

A large part of ministry in the north is about connecting with people. There are many communities that are in some ways isolated and people can feel forgotten. We visited with a pastor of a foursquare church in Haines, Alaska about a four to five hour drive from here. Mark and his family really welcomed us and blessed us which was fantastic.

Last night I (Simon) travelled with four others to visit a first nations village 2 hours drive away. We had a fun time with some of the elders of the village who were believers, enjoyed singing some old hymns they loved and prayed with them.

Relationship is so important and we so appreciate everyone who has let us know how they are doing by email or facebook. Internet is still a little sporadic for us at the moment but we thank you for all you have sent through.

Things are still very much of an adjustment for us here, we'll get there though!

I hope and pray that you are doing well.

Simon

  1. Welcome, great to hear from you.
    Finally at the target destination.
The beginning of a great time
    challenging at times I'm sure.
    Feel connected despite the remoteness.
It's amazing what can be done with modern technology. Just returned from a short term trip to Sudan and regularily exchanged texts
with folks in Birmingham and Germany.

    Grace and Peace
