Hi everyone

Wow, life has been very busy as usual and here we are in the middle of summer already!

The yukon summer is a real contrast to the winter. The flowers are out and everything is in full growth mode! The days are very long and it doesn't really get dark at night, just kinda dusky for a few hours before the sun comes up again at 3am. We have had beautiful hot weather for a few weeks ago it was 30C here today and blazing sunshine. If you want to come and visit now you know when to come!

Church life continues as normal and Yukon Bible Fellowship is a dynamic and exciting place to be. God continues to do amazing stuff in peoples lives.

So I hope things are well for you & your family. If you want to see some more pictures of the north, check out my facebook page or go to my flickr site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/simonayrton/

Grace and peace to you all

Sunshine!!!

It has been a very long time since i last posted and my apologies for that. I need to better at doing this regularly!

Spring has finally come in the yukon and we are starting to see some flowers come out and everything!  The sun is shining and everyone has gone into a mad spring frenzy! The evenings are also getting much longer and it is still just about light to around 11:30pm

Church life continues to be busy and interesting. Zoe and I helped out at the good friday service for the churches of whitehorse. Musicians from lots of different denominations gathered to play and it was a great time.

Other than that we have had lots of opportunity to get outside and enjoy the scenery. We have travelled to Skagway in Alaska a few times for a day trip. It's a beautiful drive (around 2hrs) i'll post some photo's some time.

Hope you are enjoying the coming season wherever you are!!

Yukon Quest

Had a great time this morning watching the start of the Yukon Quest dog sled race. The racers start from Whitehorse this year and embark on a 1000 mile race to fairbanks Alaska. It has a reputation as the toughest race of it's kind in the world.

The start area was packed with people all excited and there was a great atmosphere. The racers were saluting the crowd on the way out and shouting thanks to all the well wishers.

I had fun taking some pictures and if you want to see a few more check out a few I have put on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=330484&id=539230489&l=6c2e8a3175
